  • A Google Merchant Centre account
  • A Google Ads account

Once you have these three things in place, you can begin the process of tieing them all together.

Once you have all your products listed in Merchant Centre, it is now time to connect the Merchant Centre account to your Google Ads account.

This is as simple as linking the account within Merchant Centre and confirming the sync in Google Ads.

Once the link has been made, as long as the products have been approved in Merchant Centre they will pull through straight away and you will be able to set up product ads.

Setting Up Product Ads On Google

Setting up the ads to run on Google Shopping is similar to Search Ads, but there are a few differences.

First you have to choose between standard and smart Shopping campaigns.

Standard Shopping campaigns will show products to a large range of people who are searching for products on Google

Smart Shopping campaigns use conversion tracking and data from your audience lists to target customers that are more likely to have a higher conversion rate.

Once you have selected a campaign and chosen your corresponding merchant centre feed, you can then start adding products to the campaign.

You can choose to add all products to the Ad Group, or you can set up individual Ad Groups for different product categories.

Once you have selected your daily spend and tweaked your other settings, your Shopping Ads should be ready to go.

It is worth mentioning that Shopping Ads can take a bit longer than Search Ads to learn the placement and spend settings, so give it 24 hours to start showing before you start changing things.
